Baby Shower

The family had a shower for Logan. It was really nice to have a shower after he was born, because we were able to get some clothes that were in bigger sizes. Some highlights from the shower...Pictures of Logan on his cake that my mom made.

Fingerpainting

I thought that it would be fun to get some finger paints for Austyn. I helped Austyn "finger paint," while Tessa helped Logan.Aside from this face, I think that Austyn enjoyed fingerpainting. He also enjoyed trying to rip the paper off the table. Tessa painted a smiley face on Logan's belly after she got Logan's footprints on paper.

A lot of updates to come...

I know that it has been forever since I was on here to update everyone about what has been going on in our lives. However, I am going to try and make up for lost time and put a couple of updates on today. So it has taken awhile, but Logan has finally met all of his grandparents. Here are some of the pictures. They are in the order that Logan met them. Mom, Tessa, Tesha and Austyn came down at the end of June. This is a picture of Grammy Crawford with Logan after she got off of work. Here is Logan playing with Grandma Smith when she came down to help us make our cross country trip. Logan was fascinated with her bright shirt. Pappy Crawford and Logan in deep conversation. Cross Country Trip

Logan recently made his first cross country trip. Due to the fact that I am in Makayla's wedding in September and needed to come in for her bridal shower in August, we decided it would be best if I came and stayed at my mom and dad's house for a month. Gwen came out and helped me drive back. It was so nice to have some help especially when Logan would get fussy and I would have to jump into the backseat to calm him down, she was able to take the drivers seat and we could continue to make progress. We only made one wrong turn, but that was because the GPS directions were a little confusing. However, it allowed us to get a really good picture of the Arch in St. Louis. On Thursday, we left about 8:15 and stopped for lunch about 12:30. We got Logan out and laid a blanket down on a picnic table so that he could stretch and move around before we got back on the road. We spent about 11 hours on the road before we stopped and stayed at a Ramada Inn. The next day we drove and had supper with Will, Valerie, Graham, Baby C, and Valerie's sister Rebekah. Thank you for the supper and dessert. It was great to finally meet Baby C and play with Graham again. On the way to Will and Valeries, I decided that since I had just fed Logan, we would go through the drive thru at McDonald's and just keep driving. Little did I know that Logan had not gotten enough to eat. We were on the road no more than five minutes and Logan started fussing. So I pulled over along a major highway and jumped in the back to see if I could calm him down. Gwen got into the drivers seat and was waiting for me to tell her when we were ready. I didn't realize when I pulled off that I was just a few feet from a sign that said "No stopping, standing or parking." I told Gwen that we weren't going anywhere for a couple of minutes, because I needed to feed Logan. I finished feeding him and just got him back into his seat, when I told Gwen that we were ready. She said that unfortunately we wouldn't be going anywhere for a little longer, because a cop had just pulled off up ahead of us. The cop proceeded to back up and then around us. Gwen has never been pulled over before, so she was a little unnerved. She got the registration, proof of insurance, and her driver's license out when the cop walked up to our car. He asked if we were ok and she told him that we had an emergency with the baby. He again asked if everything was ok. She told him yes and he told her that he would wait behind us until we were ready. I informed him that I just needed to jump back into the front of the car and then we would be good to go. He told us that he would angle his car out so that traffic would get over and then we should be able to get out. It was really convenient for him to come along and in the end help us to get back on the road. After supper, we continued on our journey and we spent Friday and Saturday night with Sandy, a friend from our last church. Here is a picture of Sandy with Logan before we went to church on Sunday. She was a wonderful hostess and made us feel at home. Thank you for opening up your house and the wonderful food, especially the vegetable soup and sugar cookies, that you provided us while we were there. It was nice to have a day of rest before we continued traveling on Sunday. It was also nice to see everyone at church. They made us all feel really welcome and missed. Everybody was really excited to meet Logan and to see me again.

Logan's Dedication

Ben and I have decided to have Logan dedicated at our Oklahoma church and also at the Ryot church. We felt that it is important to have him dedicated at both places because our church family in Oklahoma will be helping to teach him and encourage us while we live there. The Ryot church will always be a part of his life, due to the fact that is where Ben and I met and grew up. Here are some pictures from the dedication in Oklahoma.

I will post pictures of his dedication in Ryot after we have it on Sunday, September 20. The neat thing is that both of Logan's dedications will be performed by Pastor Kevins.

Rodeo and smiles!

To start off, here is a picture of how big Logan has gotten. He is getting so long. Logan is usually happy after he eats in the morning and often smiles and "talks" to me, but I have never been able to catch it with the camera. On Friday, I was finally able to catch him while he was playing. I was so excited that I finally got a picture of his smile.

On Friday, we went to the Professional Bullriding in Guthrie,OK with some friends from church. None of us had ever been to the Lazy E Arena, so we were using the GPS to get there. It was one of the roughest rides we had ever been on. It took us on roads that we were surprised were even on the GPS. Needless to say, it took us a lot longer to get there than we were expecting. We still made it for the whole show. I told Ben before we went into the arena that I didn't know if I would have as much fun in the arena as I did trying to get there! The following pictures are of Logan playing with me on Saturday morning. We have also started working with him to take a bottle. Last Monday, I had Ben give him his first bottle and he drank the whole four ounces with no problems. I wanted to make sure that this wasn't a one time deal, so we gave him a second bottle on Tuesday. He drank 4.5 ounces, but he was still acting like he was hungry. In fact, Ben was still holding him and Logan latched on to his arm. I went ahead and tried to feed him. He ended up eating off both sides. No wonder he has a Budda belly by the time he is finished eating. Well I hope that you have enjoyed the update and pictures.

Logan's first video online.

Logan has grown so much. It is hard to believe that he is already over a month old. I put him on the scale with me the other day and it said that he weighs 11 pounds. I am so glad that I am not on the diet that makes you gain 3 pounds in one month. Ben and I attempted to measure his length while he was lying on the floor on Saturday. We came up with 23 or 23 1/2 inches. He has become a lot more alert and is constantly looking around at everything. I am going to try and include a video of the first time I put one of his toys on the floor next to him. He initially was looking up at the ceiling, but then I turned the little piano on and it got his attention immediately with the flashing lights and music. In the video it kind of sounds like he is trying to talk to it. Unfortunately, the phone rang so I had to stop recording him. He has also discovered his mobile on his swing. He loves to just sit and watch it go around. I have also discovered that Logan loves to be outside. There have been a couple of days when he was being fussy, so I took him outside. As soon as we got outside, he was content and didn't make a sound. He just sat on my lap and looked around. This isn't really a good thing, because (1) there haven't been too many days that it hasn't been 100+ degrees, (2) I really don't like the heat, and (3) I don't like bugs. For some reason it seems that I am the only one they are attracted to. But I guess if it makes Logan stop crying, I am willing to take him outside, even if it is for just a few minutes. One other thing, we have figured out that he likes to sleep with his blanket up next to his face, just like I do.Well I will try to post more pictures soon, but I will have to wait until he wakes up to take some more pictures. I am still trying to catch him rolling over and also when he is smiling. One of these days I will be able to share them with you.
