Audrey's First Foods

Second children are handled differently than first children, everybody knows this. I was trying not to fall into this trap, however, it just sort of happens. Anyway, Audrey's first food was not the usual rice cereal. No Audrey's first food was a tortilla chip. We were playing games and Ben was eating chips. Audrey kept watching it and then she would kind of dive for the chip, so Ben decided to let her try it out. After the tortilla chip, we gave her rice cereal and she did pretty well for a first timer. P.S. These videos were taken June 11 when she was 5 months old.

John Deere Green

Logan got a tractor with a wagon for his birthday. At first, he couldn't figure out how to make it go, but then he discovered that if you stand on the pedal it moves. He was not very good at steering while standing, but still enjoyed his new ride. I think his favorite part about his tractor is that fact that it has a radio. As soon as he goes out in the garage, he will turn it on. Sometimes, he picks a good station, other times it is questionable (Spanish music channel).

Random Places

We sometimes find Logan sleeping in places other than his bed. For example, in our bed (June 5, 2011) in the hall (August 30, 2011)

Logan's Birthday

We got Logan a pool for his birthday. He enjoyed playing in it until it got TOO HOT. (We had 58 days where it was 100+ degrees.)
Filling the pool.
THE PARTY We had a water party for Logan's 2nd birthday. It was a huge success! A pool and sprinkler are the easiest entertaining ideas for kids. Everyone had a great time. I made cupcakes for the occasion. We had peanut butter cupcakes with chocolate frosting, placed to look like a football and creamsicle cupcakes decorated like soccer, baseball, and basketballs. PRESENT TIME

End of May

WALKING A MILE IN DADDY'S BOOTS Logan loves to try on Ben's boots. Ben recently bought a pair of steel toe boots and Logan tried them out. MEDICINE Logan ended up getting sick and had to take medicine. He has become quite good at giving himself medicine. PRETTY AUDREY CUTE LOGAN

A trip to PA- part 2

Pap and Sharon's Wedding We also celebrated the union of my Pap and Sharon. It appears that they have brought so much adventure and happiness to their lives with this marriage. Cookies and milk with Meme
My mom and dad always have Oreo cookies in their cupboard, so it was only fitting that Logan get to enjoy cookies and milk with Meme(my mom)."I have to dunk all the way to the bottom."
"Where is the rest of my cookie?"

A trip to PA- part 1

As I was packing to make a visit to PA, Logan woke up from his nap. Logan decided that all that needed to be put in the suitcase was a blanket, pillow, and himself.Audrey got to take her first airplane ride. Both kids did really well on the flights. We did so many things while in PA. We celebrated Mother's Day with our Moms (this is the first time in a long time) by having Audrey dedicated followed by a picnic, played with cousins, went fishing with Grandpap Smith, attended my grandfather's wedding, attended a baseball game and so much more. MOTHER'S DAY-
As I said, we had Audrey dedicated on Mother's Day. She looked adorable in her beautiful gown from Great Uncle David and Great Aunt Frances, unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures. We had a picnic following the dedication. We also got family pictures taken on Ben's side of the family. After pictures and the meal, we spent time socializing with family. Bryan provided the entertainment for us as he used different "tools" to kill bees.Looking for the bees
Weapon of choice: spatula
Spatula wasn't doing the trick, so let's try a 2x4 or a bat.
FISHING WITH GRANDPAP SMITH One morning, Ben took Logan to go fishing with Grandpap Smith. Logan's idea of fishing was pulling his goldfish out of his goldfish container. Logan also enjoyed eating the bait(corn), rather than using it for the fish.
Fishing for "goldfish"
Want some?
"Awww, why did you pull it out of the water?"

Audrey's Dedication-OK

We had Audrey dedicated in OK on Sunday, May 1. After I got Logan dressed (at church), he went up on stage and was playing Dave's guitar. Dave initially told him that he was holding it wrong, but then asked if he was left handed. Of course, Ben said yes. Our church had a team planning to go to Belize and the children's department had collected money for soccer balls to send with them. Well the soccer ball presentation was made before we had Audrey dedicated, therefore they were still in the front of the church when we went up for her dedication. This was a huge distraction for Logan. Pastor Jason wrote her a letter for her to open on her 18th birthday. She also received a pink Bible and a rose.I was nervous about being in front of the church, because Audrey was very "regular" and would fill her diaper during service. It never seemed to fail, but fortunately this day was different. She waited until after we had already sat do (this was definitely an answer to prayer.)
